The Backstreet Boys on stage in Hong Kong

The Backstreet Boys have performed their first concert in Hong Kong at the AsiaWorld-Expo.

The show, part of the American pop quartet's 2008Unbreakable World Tour, follows the release of their sixth album Unbreakable last October.
It is the group's first concert in Hong Kong. The four members Nick
Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell and AJ McLean talked at a press
conference before the opening of the show:
"I think hopefully we grew as individuals, we grew tighter as a
group. We obviously got older, mature in away that only we really could
have shared all these memories together. And I think look back on the
past and everything happened with a reason, we're here today, you know
because it's just meant to be. I think we would continue to get
stronger hopefully, we have another 15 years together, but you know we
always want it to be better musically, emotionally, physically. Touring
get us back in shape and make us more ambitious, give us a drive, see
our fans faces, make us stay out, tour forever." Brian Littrell told
    journalist before the concert
The band has been away from the limelight for a long time, but they
did not officially break up explained AJ McLean: "A lot of people in
between Black And Blue and Never Gone thought we've
broken up, thought we were done and we never really broke up, we've
just taken a break, we had toured for nine years straight. And we had
not taken a break, we probably going cuckoo, and probably wouldn't be
here right now. So but I think the comradely, the honesty, the
dedication we want to do this as well as having the best fans all over
the world that keep us doing what we want to do that's why we are still
in here. And it works down to music. We love doing music, we love
making record for ourselves, for our fans. "
Their first two albums Backstreet Boys and Millennium
released in 1997 and 1999, both sold more than 10 million copies and
top the chart in 25 countries. To date they have released 6 studio
albums and have sold over 75 million copies worldwide.
The boy band, now with Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, A.J. McLean
and Nick Carter, has already performed in Malaysia, Australia, the
Philippines and Indonesia. They will go on to perform in Tokyo, Seoul
and Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province on March 4.
