    Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean
has insisted that his debut album is "still happening" and will be
released by the end of the year. The singer, who has been working with artists including J.C. Chasez and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder, told DS that he was nearly finished on the long-awaited record. "I've been making my record for about four years, it's been a lifetime in the making!" he explained. "We
finished [the new Backstreet Boys] record about three weeks ago, so now
I'm wrapping up on my record. The album will be out in November, the
single will be out in September but it won't hit you guys until spring
next year."The 31-year-old went on to say that he was "really
excited" about the "amazing record" and that he had received the full
support from his bandmates. "It's a pretty awesome record and
I'm really proud of it," he added. "I wrote the majority of the record
along with some amazing writers and it's kind of me introducing me to
the world as myself."McLean previously hinted that the album would have a "Southern rock vibe" and promised that fans would be "surprised" by the direction of the record.
